RivRide – Terms and Conditions

1. About RivRide
RivRide is a digital ride-hailing service developed and managed under the RivDrive mobility platform, which is owned and operated by Riviera Mart Services Ltd (“RivMart Services,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
RivRide connects passengers (“Users”) with independent professional drivers (“Drivers”) who provide transportation services through the companion app RivDriver.
RivRide is not a transportation company and does not own or operate vehicles. All rides are provided by independent third-party drivers using the RivDriver platform.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, registering, or using RivRide, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
3. User Eligibility
To use RivRide, you must:

Be at least 18 years old;

Possess the legal right and ability to enter into binding agreements; and

Provide accurate, current, and verifiable registration details.
RivMart Services reserves the right to refuse access or deactivate accounts at its sole discretion.
4. The RivRide Service
RivRide provides:

A digital platform for requesting, scheduling, and tracking rides;

A secure payment system (cash, card, or in-app wallet);
-
Communication and rating features between drivers and passengers; and
-
Support tools to enhance safety and reliability.
RivMart Services only facilitates connections between users and drivers and does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any ride or driver conduct.
5. Account Registration
Users must register an account to access RivRide.
You agree to:

Provide accurate information;

Maintain the confidentiality of your account details;

Be fully responsible for all activity under your account.
We may suspend or terminate any account suspected of misuse, fraud, or policy violation.
6. Ride Requests and Cancellations

Once a ride is confirmed, a contract is formed between the passenger and the driver.

Passengers may cancel rides before pickup, but excessive cancellations may incur a fee or temporary restriction.

RivRide may cancel or reassign rides in cases of driver unavailability, safety issues, or system error.
7. Payments

Fare estimates are provided before confirmation, but may vary depending on route, traffic, or time.

Payment options include cash, card, or RivWallet.

RivMart Services may charge a service fee for app usage.

Drivers act as independent contractors; RivMart Services collects fares on their behalf and remits accordingly.
Refunds for electronic payments are processed after verification, at RivMart Services’ discretion.
8. Safety and Behavior
Your safety and respect for others are priorities:

Drivers and users must treat each other respectfully.

No illegal, harassing, or dangerous behavior is permitted.

Always confirm driver and vehicle details before boarding.

Use the in-app SOS or safety features when needed.
RivMart Services is not liable for personal actions, misconduct, or negligence of any user or driver.
9. Ratings and Feedback
Both passengers and drivers can rate and review each other after trips.
Ratings ensure transparency and service quality.
Persistent poor ratings or misconduct may result in suspension or termination.
10. Data and Privacy
Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, compliant with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and relevant international standards (e.g., GDPR).
11. Intellectual Property
All logos, software, trademarks, and digital assets of RivRide, RivDriver, and RivDrive are the exclusive property of Riviera Mart Services Ltd.
Unauthorized reproduction or modification is prohibited.
12. Limitation of Liability
RivMart Services shall not be liable for:

Accidents, delays, or losses during rides;

Actions or omissions by drivers or passengers;

Service interruptions or system failures.
RivRide is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Riviera Mart Services Ltd, its affiliates, and partners from any claims or damages arising from your use of RivRide, violation of these Terms, or infringement of rights of others.
14. Termination
RivMart Services may, without notice, suspend or terminate your access to RivRide if:

You breach these Terms;

Fraudulent activity is detected; or
-
Required by law.
You may also delete your account at any time via the app or by emailing support@rivdrive.services.
15. Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. Updates will be posted at https://rivdrive.services/terms.
Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
All disputes shall be handled in the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria.
