1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the RivRide (rider app) or RivDrive (driver app) mobile applications, or visiting https://rivdrive.services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”).

These Terms govern the use of all services offered by Riviera Mart Services Ltd (also known as RivMart Services Ltd), incorporated in Nigeria, and apply to both:

  • Riders using RivRide to request trips.

  • Drivers/Partners using RivDrive to provide transportation services.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue use of our services.


2. Governing Legal Framework

  • Primary Jurisdiction: Nigerian law applies, including but not limited to:

    • The Consumer Protection Council Act

    • The Federal Road Safety Commission Act

    • The Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act

    • The Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR)

  • International Users: If you are accessing RivRide or RivDrive outside Nigeria, you must also comply with local transport, data, and consumer laws in your country of use.


3. Services Provided

  • RivRide: Connects riders with independent third-party drivers for safe, reliable, and affordable trips.

  • RivDrive: Enables drivers/partners to accept ride requests, manage bookings, and earn from trips.

Riviera Mart Services Ltd does not own vehicles or employ drivers. All drivers are independent contractors.


4. Eligibility

  • Riders (RivRide): Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Drivers (RivDrive): Must hold:

    • Valid driver’s license

    • Roadworthy vehicle with insurance and permits

    • Proof of registration in compliance with local law


5. User & Driver Accounts

  • Accounts must contain accurate, verifiable information.

  • Users are responsible for all activities under their account.

  • Passwords and credentials must be kept confidential.


6. Fares & Payments

  • Fares are calculated dynamically based on time, distance, traffic, and demand (including Peak Fares).

  • Payment options include: cash, debit/credit cards, bank transfers, and wallets (where available).

  • Digital receipts are issued in-app.


7. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Riders may be charged a cancellation fee if they cancel after a driver is assigned.

  • Refunds (where applicable) are processed within 7 business days.

  • International refunds will comply with applicable banking rules in the rider’s country.


8. Driver Obligations (RivDrive)

  • Must pass KYC, background checks, and vehicle inspections.

  • Must comply with local road and safety laws.

  • Operate as independent contractors (not employees).


9. Safety & Conduct

  • Respectful behavior is mandatory for both riders and drivers.

  • Harassment, abuse, or unsafe conduct leads to suspension or permanent removal.

  • Safety features include GPS tracking, SOS emergency support, and in-app contact features.


10. International Use & Data

  • Your data may be stored on secure servers located in Nigeria and internationally, in compliance with NDPR and applicable international privacy standards (e.g., GDPR).

  • Users outside Nigeria consent to the transfer of their data to Nigeria and/or other countries where RivMart operates.


11. Grievances & Disputes

  • RivRide has a designated Grievance Officer:

  • Disputes will first be attempted through negotiation. If unresolved:

    • Nigerian users → Nigerian courts (city of registration).

    • International users → Local courts where required, or arbitration if applicable.
